Kivy - Open source Python library for rapid development of applications that make use of innovative user interfaces, such as multi-touch apps.

If you want to be able to follow the docs, it is probably wise to install version newer than the one in repos:

Examples will land somewhere in /usr/share. Funny thing is they work with python main.py and NOT with pyhton3 main.py.
